4th IWA Ill Doctrine

            I like watching video, because it is different from TV series or Movies. Most of videos are produced by our common people. Unlike movie, videos are just for fun; they don't care profits. Through internet, you will see huge numbers of talent thoughts on the internet. They are from Asian to American,from developing countries to developed countries.

Ill Doctrine is one of my favorite Video series. Jay Smith uses his humor and relax way to explore our society. From his videos, you will realize lots of things like how politician cheat us, how advertisement attract us. His conversation is straight forward and easy to understand.

In the video, “Why I AM Afraid Of You Christine O'Dennel,” , O'Dennel want to be a senator, so she advertise herself on the Tv. Her words are very peaceful and sensitive. “ I am not rich. I am nothing you heard. I am you. None of us are happy what we see around us. I will go to Washington do whatever you do. “ When I first time heard this advertisement, I felt she was an ideal candidate, for she was so thoughtful and modest. Without deep thinking, I agreed with her that if I were she, she would changed this country better. However, after heard Jay Smith's explanation. I really found out that I was fooled because I don't understand myself well. I even have some troubles with my life. How can I help people. I am absolutely not an ideal candidate too. I can't not do my job well. Is that mean if I were the president tomorrow, then I would have the ability to govern U.S well? That is unlogical. I am myself and I am still myself. Nobody can become a superhuman in one day. That is obviously lie. We should not believe these kind of lies. Nothing is absolutely trusted, so think before action.

In another video, “Got-No-Sensitive.” Jay Smith tells us got-no-sensitive means pretending you agree with someone even though you know they are acting like they have got no dam sense. From his words, we know that it is important to be sensitive. Global warming is not cause by gay marriage. But once you are on-sensitive, sometimes you will not be able to find out the truth. We still need truth in our society. If your friend always agree with you. Will you be happy? This kind of friends are two types. One of them just want to get some benefits from you, so they don't show their opinions, and everytime they just want to make you happy. They don't care whether you are right or wrong because they never treat as you as their friend. They are no-sensitive to you. The other of them, they are yes man. To make friends with these kind of people, you will never going to be strong. They are no-sensitive, they just follow whatever you do. They don't have their opinions, and they want you to help them to decide something. The longer you stay with them, the more no-sensitive you will be. We need be a sensitive man, for we should not be control our mind by anybody. Lots of politician want make us no-sensitive because they are no-sensitive. They want use your no-sensitive to support them.

In conclusion. I like watching video, for a short video Jay Smith tells us lots of things. Something is easy to understand, but I just did not think in that direction. In our daily life, we really need to think carefully, for maybe there is a trap for you. Videos are good resources to remind us getting from those traps.

Valley Fair Mall

      I went to Valley Fair Mall last week, and it gave me an indelible impression . First, Parking building is beside the mall, so it is short distance for customers to come into the mall. Second, This mall have over 200 stores. Every store has its own style as well as its own culture. However, most of the stores are white stores just like other places in United States. Finally, they have a luxury first floor, which are all marbles. There are also have many famous Luxury store, and the customers are rich; while in second floor, it is not as luxury as first floor. I seldom see famous brand store in second floor. There are few rich customers.

The first two point that I mention above is very common, I don't want talk too much. However I want focus on third point. In the same building, poor people seldom go to first floor. Rich people refuse to go to second floor. This is a society's illness, which is rich people despite poor people. And poor people have aversion with rich people.

      I never think I am a rich people as now I am a full time college student. I wanted to find out why poor people seldom went to first floor, so I went to LV store which was on the first floor. When I came inside LV, I didn't feel comfortable at all. The salesmen were handsome, but none of them smiled at me, which made the atmosphere tense. It also implied me that I was not suppose to be there, but I didn't care. There was no salesman came to say hello to me until 2 minutes later. Meanwhile, A 40 years white man came ( It seems that he was rich) inside, everybody smiled at him. At least 3 people came to serve and followed him. However this man is not friendly at all; I did not see his smiling, all I see is his vainness. He came out from this store soon. This experience told me that, rich store don't welcome poor people, and why poor people don't go to first floor.

     Base on the knowledge from Humanity class, I know the majority of population is not white. 59% family's income is less than 100,000. 65% residents don't have Bachelor's Degree. These data can tells us that the majority people are not white and they are not rich. However, in Valley Fair Mall, 90% of the stores are for whites. ( White are there ideal customers) . For business man they just care about profits. They don't care about races and cultures, but care about rich people.

    If I have a chance to solve this problem, the first thing I will do is to give more money to school, for knowledge is power. In San Jose, there are still 35% resident have bachelor's degree. The rest of them need educated. Only education can save poor people, for most of poor people they don't know how to think and they have wrong opinions. Education can help get rid of wrong thought. Plus, education can educate rich family's kid. Form the power of knowledge, rich people know how to be nice to poor people. Then I will charge more money on luxury store taxes, and also charge more taxes on who bought luxury stuff. Using the luxury tax to help education or work trainning system. Finally , I won't do anything for the mall, except for charge them more tax. I know mall is a commercial place, If they don't have profit then it will close soon, which is bad for our economics too.  

I will take red pill

       “You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.” When you want to save this world , people might misunderstand or hurt you. You are asked to join to anti machines' invasion, will you? For me, I am no doubt to say yes, because I love this society. I would like to contribute to our society as possible as I can. Though people isn't willing to accept truth, selfish and stubborn., it is also my reponsible to serve for my society, Otherwise, these weakness will destroy us.

        People always don't accept truth. I saw a cartoon which is talking four men are forced to stay in cave and the only thing they can see is shadow because their necks are locked. Their master set off one one of them. When the one come out from cave, he was nervous and curious about everything. Thank to his freedom, he can observe everything. He figure out many things by himself such as everything exist instead of shadow, Sun is hot and shine, water is wet. He is happy everything that he just learned and eager to share with his friends so that their friends will come outside to see the real world. After he tell his friends what is from the outside world , they just laugh and not friendly to him at all because they think he is crazy. As you see from this story, observing and realizing need time as well as talent. Once you have the opportunity , you should help people who are in the same class like you. Though they hurt and misunderstand you , you still have to be patience because you are the only chance to get out of from the problem.

          “The Matrix” also tells us people's selfish and numbness make our society being attacked. As we see, people are in hunger in 2210, machines are using us to be their batteries. Lots of people will take the blue pill because they might think it is not their business . I have a respect job, and the world now to me is good enough. I don't need think too much. Maybe The Matrix exist, but that for me is too far. I die already at that time. However, have you ever think how about human beings? How can our people continue to live in this world? We are human beings, we need this society. No people can continue to live without this society. As a part of this society , everyone has responsibleness for our society and that is the only way can protect our society.

           Stubborn killed people and make them get into the problems. I feel deeply about this. In 2008, San Francisco Mayor denied to set up city college campus in San Francisco China Town. It is obvious that good for Chinese, for there are too much populations in China Town and the traffic is really bad. You never get a seat when you take a bus in China Town. In Chinese community, some people are not happy so they union all China Town's people to sign names to against the plan. They ignored mayor's consideration. Finally, Chinese won. In my opinion, stubborn makes them get into problem. Now China Town have many problems already. How about a new campus set up? There at least increase 5,000 students. Student usually go to school on rush hours. How can they solve public transportation problem? In my opinion, they won campus but lose China Town problem solving.

          Since I like this society and I realize people's weakness. I am human being; I also have these weakness, but I will help them without doubt when my people my people are having problems. In my culture, there is a saying " People will die one day. Someone died meaningful , but someone died without any special. I am willing to take  red pill, because this can save my people and it is meaningful.

1st IWA

         Kwame Anthony Appiah  is a  cosmopolitan  who has half British blood and half African blood. He grew up in a multicultural environment.He was raise in Ashanti Region, Ghana, and educated at Bryanston School and Clare College, Cambridge, where he earns a Ph.d in philosophy. Later his sisters married to different countries too. That make him  the idea of  cosmopolitan which he believes our earth is a village is and we should know how to respect each other and under stand each other . He also suggest us we need accept uniques.

        He said our world is getting closer and closer. On nowadays , our world is getting closer and closer. Back to 100 years, If I want to go to China, it will take at least 3 month. Now we have airplane, and we can  go anywhere in 24 hours which short the distance of our world. We also have a many fast ways to communicate. During 1900, the only way to communicate is letter. It take very long time. Some times the letter were not received,  so it was difficult to contact with anther continent. High Technology helps us to solve these problems. You can choose either e-mail , phone call or facebook. The informations are faster and safer. We also have our common window  internet , which we can share the same ideas from this window. With these high technology , we can make our world convenient  and it just like the village. 

       He suggest that since we get closer, we are more rely on each other. We need get along with each other, so we respect  and try to understand each other. When we are in home, we know how to get along with our brothers and sisters. It is the same when we  facing other country's people. We need more inclusive and acceptable. As you know, they have different culture background and their philosohpy. If you don't  accept the opinion of cosmopolitan, you will receive conflicts every day and your way will be more narrow.You will aslo found out multicultural are more powerful because they have more options and you can choose the best one. 

         He also believes we need accept unique. Different people have different ways to figure things out. There is no reason someone has to follow you; besides, you are not always right. Our society can improve because they are unique. Unique make our world charming instead of boring. Unique also make our world more challenge. Because of the challenge, our world become better. For example, why apple become outstanding, because it has competitors. If apple isn't unique and creative, it will be replaced by other brand very soon. We can also say without competitors, apple won't be as charming as now.

          In my opinion, I agree with Appiah. He was right we are living in a earth country. Though, we get along with other countries , we  have some problems. We have to learn how to respect and understand them. Only that way, we can understand the world better. Our way will be wider. 

IAT

    I took the IATs. One is age IAT, and another is gender-science IAT. Personal opinion, I don't think the Iat is accurate.  I like people is depend on what his characteristic is.  For young people, we have  better body shape and good looking, but we lack of  life experiences. We are not mature enough, when we do something always make mistakes. Though old people their skin is loosing and contain many wrinkles , that is gain from their lives. They are considerable and know what you want because they went through already. For some old people , they are wisdom and I like to talk with them . They teach me how to think from a high attitude. For example, I have two instructors; one is young, another is old. They both graduated from famous university and  hard teachers. The young, doesn't have much experience and doesn't  like student to trouble him, but the old he is  patience. He has lots life experience, and cares about our foreign students. He also give us many chances, so you miss something  one or two times; he won't kill you. Though young teacher handsome, he could not understand students' difficult.  However, old professor walk slowly, but he cares us. He knows our problems and try to help us to solve them.. They both have advantage and disadvantages, so I like them the same.
          For another, I do not agree with " Boys are better than girls in science fields" too. As far as I know, girls are good at science too, and many girls are even better than boys. Many girls are not good at science because they like giving up. They accept traditional idea male are better than female in science.  Because of this opinion, many girls don't  listen to teacher and allow themselves fall behind. How can you be good at science when you give up science?  
         I don't have any religion or traditional idea, because no one is absolutely true. We should believe science, for it is not one person's  opinion. It was tested many times by many people. If you don't believe it, you can test it too. Science method  is the only way to set free our mind. Lots of tradition ideas like a resistance  to pull our world back. When our science method find out the idea is wrong, then we so give up.  This is the only way to make our world become better. Likewise, IAT could not be tested by science method so I won't accept IAT's opinions.

Another April   hahaha!!!!!

Scavenger Hunt for me is  unforgettable for me. There are 3 people in my group. 2 of them are very bold, I am a shy guy. Our strategy was great , the first thing we ask professor  to make sure the staffs that what we find on the computer are ok. After professor said ok, we ran as quickly as we can to the library in order to get available computer. Our strategy was useful, for computer can supply us almost what we need. If I have another chance to redo it, I won't come outside from classroom. I will ask professor if it is ok that I draw that all staff. For my logic, You can take a picture from computer, I get points from just what I am drawing. (This is just an idea) I believe what Elas Maxwelll saying"You don't need change yourself, because the world don't understand you. You can change them later. The hardest thing is to find some one teach us how to dance. Before we could not find someone who could teach us how to dance. I promissed my partner I will learn dance because I was sure that we could not find anyone teach us at that time. Later in the cafeteria, someone agreed to teach us.  I am a very shy guy and I changed my idea. My partner dance instead for me  immediately.  I thank for him , for he he save me from the embarrassed situation.  From this activity, I know creative thinking is something you need think by yourself and get some new ideas instead old idea or stole idea from others. In our society, we need this kind of thinking. Supposed in technology filed, without creative inventor, will you have chance to use Ipone? Can we use blogger to share our ideas. I think this activity just show one of tiny part from creative thinking. I am looking forward more creative thinking class  to open my mind. One more thing, our success strategy is depend on our creative mind by using computer.
